This delightful village
offers stunning views across the Rother valley
and south to the coast.
Its highest point, at
more than 600 feet, is on Brightling Down and
is marked by a monument to ‘Mad Jack’ Fuller,
a local ironmaster and MP who died in 1834.
He
built a number of follies in the locality and
was both sponsor and mentor to the scientist
Michael Faraday. |
