The attractive village of
Godstone, located close to the North Downs, boasts
many small cottages, a green, cricket pitch and
old-fashioned duck pond. Its most famous pub, The
White Hart, is Elizabethan. Godstone Farm is one
of the south’s most popular farm attractions while
the 50-acre Godstone Vineyards is said to be
Britain’s most beautiful vineyard. Nearby is the
oldest working windmill in the country, built in
the mid 17th century. During the Elizabethan
period Godstone was famous for its leather
industry. Gunpowder was also made here.
