Horseriding holiday activities can vary
from an experienced rider simply hiring a horse for the
odd hour to residential riding courses for absolute
beginners.

Beechwood is situated in a beautiful position in
the North Downs and Woldingham offers extensive
hacking with many bridleways. We have a wide
variety of lessons to offer our clients. As
riding is essentially an outdoor sport, we have
four outdoor ménages (as well as our indoor
school) - one is an international size
all-weather manège, with a surface of top grade
equisand which is superb to ride on, another
oversize sand school, a grass school and a wood
fibre school. We have a large jumping paddock
with a full set of professionally manufactured
showjumps, including the Devil's Staircase, a
Dipped Park Gate, a convincing wall and our own
special combination - the sheep pen, including
logs, sheep hurdles, rustic spread and uprights,
providing a good varied and fluent course for
all levels wishing to experience jumping a
tailor-made course. Our inviting cross-country
course, to which we are continually adding
fences, allows the more experienced riders to
meet gradients, drop fences, spreads and a
ditch.
Lessons available Tuesday to Sunday for all
riding abilities. Horses range from 12.0hh to
17.2hh. Plenty of Children and Adult group
lessons to choose from. Hacking directly out on
to Chobham Common – no road work.

Old Park Stables Riding Centre has something to
offer everyone, be they complete beginners,
nervous, or advanced riders. We cater for all
ages, and abilities. Professionally run by Carl
Belson who has a wealth of experience in all
aspects of Horse Management and registered as an
Approved Riding Establishment with the British
Horse Society. Within our complex we have two
flood lit all weather schools and an indoor
school, and we are in the process of revamping
our Cross country course. We have established a
successful Pony Club for our younger clients and
we are running the British Horse Society's
"Progressive Riding Tests" for children. For our
older clients we have the British Horse Society
"Horse Owners Certificate" levels in stable
management, held as evening courses.
Orchard Cottage Riding Stable caters for all
riders from the absolute beginner through to the
advanced and enjoys an excellent range of
facilities including indoor school and outdoor
school, and cross country course along with
first rate local hacking on the north downs. You
can enjoy escorted hacking, daytime and evening
lessons and a crèche is available during
weekdays so that parents can ride.
