Caves open Wednesday to Sunday, 7 days a week during school holidays and half terms (except Christmas).

 

45 minute Guided Tours 10am - 4pm available every hour, on the hour.

 

 
Guided tours, our experienced guides will take you on a lamp lit tour, during which you will hear of the Druids, Romans and Saxons. Visitors also see the tunnels made famous as a shelter during World War 2 when the Caves became the largest air raid shelter outside of London. See the Caves Church, Druid Altar, Haunted Pool and much more!

Tenterden - Northiam - Bodiam. Join us for a magical ride through 10 1/2 miles of beautiful countryside. Vintage steam trains dating from Victorian times will transport you back in time. Hot and cold refreshments are available at stations and on many trains, or for that extra special occasion luxury Pullman dining is on offer for dinners, Sunday Luncheons, teas, weddings/private hire (booking essential).

Special packages are also available for schools and groups. Joint tours available with Tenterden Vineyard and Biddenden Vineyard. The Oast's of Kent

First time visitors to Kent and Sussex are often puzzled by these brick or stone built barns with their round or square towers.



The history of the oast house is almost a microcosm of agricultural activity in 'The Garden of England' in the 19th century. Oast houses played an important role in much of my early life -- during my formative years

The Shell Grotto

The Shell Grotto is one of the world's most mysterious places: a series of underground rooms and passageways covered by 2000 sq ft of exquisite shell mosaic. Discovered in 1835, nobody knows who created it, although many believe it is a 2000 year-old Temple. The Mystery Museum encourages visitors to draw their own conclusions. The White Cliffs of Dover

The White Cliffs of Dover are world famous, and no-one who visits them is ever disappointed.



From the top of the cliffs you can see a stunning view of the world's busiest port, as well as the castle, and all of Dover.



The Gateway building introduces visitors to the vast coast and countryside with the use of imaginative displays.



The White Cliffs are a haven for wildlife.



There's so much to explore, and you can walk for miles along the cliff top.

A working farm which produces cereal, sheep and cricket bat willows. There are two farm trails, the longest taking one hour, which make a circular tour of the farm. Dogs on leads please.


The Folkestone Warren

This park covers 160 acres on the North Downs. Splendid walks exist on and around the North Downs Way including local features such as the Neolithic Coldrum Stones. A refreshment kiosk and visitor centre is open at peak times.


Toys Hill


National Trust car park serving 160ha of heath and woodland. Waymarked walks including a route suitable for wheelchairs. Provides spectacular views of the countryside to the South. An area much loved by one of the Trust’s founders, Octavia Hill.


Haysden Country Park

This 170 acre Country Park owes much of its character to the Haysden and Barden lakes and the River Medway. There are interesting nature and historical trails and fishing. (Day tickets available).


Maidstone Millennium River Park

A new riverside walk which opens up access to the River Medway along a 10km stretch from Teston picnic site through Maidstone's historic town centre and on to Allington Lock. Along the route Whatman Park combines a natural landscape of woodland, meadow and nature reserve with children's play areas and the Riverstage Arena.

Beaver Water World is a registered charity dedicated to rescuing and caring for mistreated, unwanted and rare reptiles and other animals.
