Until the late 1960s this
was just a village but then fame was thrust
upon it as it was transformed into one of
Britain’s so-called new towns. The place to
visit is ‘Station X’, one of the country’s
most inspiring tourist attractions. It was
here, at Bletchley Park in Old Bletchley, that
Germany’s crucial war-time secrets were
unravelled by ingenious British code-breakers.
The intelligence (codenamed Ultra) probably
shortened World War II. |
