SANDY
A centre for market
gardening, Sandy lies on the River Ivel
overlooked by the Sand Hills where there is an
ancient hill fort known as Caesar's Camp.
Sandy Lodge is the long-time home of the Royal
Society for the Protection of Birds, which
operates a local nature reserve; among its
more notable residents are not-so-common
common lizards.
