Providing cycling breaks of all types to customer requirements mainly within Dumfries and Galloway region of south west Scotland. Although we recognise that many cyclists already come to the area to take advantage of the beautiful scenery and extensive network of quiet country roads, we use our local knowledge to ensure cyclists, whether novice or experienced, make the most of their cycling break.

The centres are known as the 7stanes because when the project is completed each venue will have a 'stane' (Scots for stone!) somewhere along it. It might be at the start or it might be at the highest point - you'll have to wait and see! 7stanes offer several mountain bikes trails throughout Scotland. Centres in Dumfries & Galloway include locations at Kirroughtree Forest, Mabie Forest and Dalbeattie Forest. See the website for further details.

Stranraer to Dunbar (9 Sections)
A 224 mile long distance coast to coast by the forests, hills and rivers of south Scotland. Quiet back roads; lots of historic interest. The purple sections on the map can be done as circular day rides.
Difficulty: Varied

Stranraer to Newton Stewart
(1) Newton Stewart - Glenluce/Stranraer
A scenic circular, also part of the long distance Stranraer to Dunbar route.
Difficulty: Varied

Newton Stewart to the Isle of Whithorn
(2) Newton Stewart - Isle of Whithorn
Gently rolling scenery with fine views of the sea and hills (22, 33 or 51 miles)
Difficulty: Easy

Damage deposit is required when hiring equipment and will take the form of credit card details or £50.00 cash, which will be destroyed and returned upon return of the equipment in good condition Cycle helmets are provided at a small charge and all cyclists are strongly advised to use them, those who refuse do so at their own risk. I recognise that cycling can be dangerous and acknowledge the risks involved. I understand that in event of a mechanical failure other than punctures, Harbour Lights Bike Hire will offer a breakdown service for the cycle but not for individuals. The Galloway Sailing Centre offers courses in sailing, windsurfing, open canoe expeditions, flat and white water kayaking and powerboating from beginner to advanced or instructor levels.
