Piersland Lodge was built in 1899 by William Leiper,
as the home for Sir Alexander Walker, grandson of Johnnie Walker, founder of
the Scotch Whisky firm.
The property, which is located opposite the Royal Troon Golf Course, world renowned location of the British Open Golf Championship, remained a family home until 1956 and is now a hotel retaining the original country house character.
All original features remain: including wood carvings, stone fireplaces, wood
panelling and a Jacobean embroidery frieze. Keeping to the Whisky theme, each bedroom is based on a malt Whisky distillery or family. All bedrooms have been fully updated while ensuring their original charm remains. Each room has full facilities and a room service menu is available.
The Piersland House offers fine cuisine and value for money, whether dining in the restaurant or the bars. Tourist Board Rating: 4* |
