This section covers
Sailing, Boating, Canoeing, Water Skiing, Windsurfing,
Surfing, etc. in the Aberdeenshire area. Included are
schools providing courses and equipment hire, yacht
charter, dinghy hire, etc
Not all the water-based activities
available in the area are listed but if you know of an
appropriate activity provider who does not yet have an entry, please
submit the information here.
We don't really have any stringent membership
guidelines, if you already paddle then great,
why not come along and join us for a couple of
sessions before deciding if we do the kind of
paddling you want. If you always wanted to try
canoeing, but never taken the opportunity, then
why not give it a go, we have a wealth of
coaching experience and would love to guide you
on your first steps (or paddle strokes) of an
exciting new sport. Please contact, Richard
Daniel for further details regarding the club.
River, surf and sea kayaking. River kayaking
usually takes place predominantly on the rivers
throughout NE Scotland, and occasionally further
afield. Surf kayakers often take advantage of
the sandy beaches and good surf waves at
Stonehaven beach and other sandy beaches of NE
Scotland. Sea kayakers often paddle along the NE
Scottish coastline, particularly near Stonehaven.
The general philosophy of the membership is to
get out and dive whenever possible. This
generally being done in and around the local
area, although most members also dive abroad on
occasion. The club trains at the Ellon Swimming
Pool.
Peterhead sailing club has something for
everyone, whether you want to learn to sail, go
racing or cruise in company. We are located at
Peterhead Lido and sail in the sheltered waters
of Peterhead Bay, although sometimes venturing
out onto the North Sea. We have a modern
clubhouse with good changing facilities. Our
sailing activites include Sunday racing, Fun
Fridays and sailing courses. We also organise
social events.
The Ocean Youth Trust Scotland aims to become
the leading provider of youth work at sea in the
UK, for young people aged 12-24, in a safe yet
unique environment. Ocean Youth Trust Scotland
provides adventurous educational opportunities
for young people aged 12-24 to develop their
