Chris Walker is a
passionate and active climber and mountaineer
whose personal and professional aspirations have
so far taken him as far a field as Spain, the
Alps, Nepal, Pakistan, India, Tibet and South
America.
Chris Walker Mountaineering
operates all its summer courses from Keswick,
with its easily accessible crags and beautiful
mountain landscape. In winter courses are
available from the base in the Fort William area
where the mountains of the west coast of
Scotland offer some of the most dramatic and
challenging days out in the country. All courses
on offer can be tailored to suit your needs, so
no matter what your objectives, feel free to get
in touch.
We offer
Tuition for groups and individuals, hire,
launching, boat repair, chandlery, boat
berths, outboard-engine sales, brokerage and
we deal in new Etap and Legend Boats.

Ascent Training is a small, friendly company
based in the Lake District specialising in
quality climbing and caving instruction and
guiding for all abilities. Our courses are
tailored to the aims and objectives of the
individuals. Most of the climbing courses are
run in the Lake District, caving courses are
based in the Yorkshire Dales and our winter
courses are based in Scotland or Norway. Private
guiding can be undertaken anywhere in the
country. Ascent Training is run by Paul Platt
who holds both the MIC and CIC qualifications.
