An elegant Grade II listed building, known around the world as the birthplace of Rugby League. The hotel is well located for Manchester United Matches at Old Trafford and games and events at the Galpharm Stadium. The Hotel is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is a great base from where to explore Yorkshire. The George has a friendly atmosphere and is popular as a meeting place with local people. Fully equipped with WI-FI, a traditional bar coupled with a modern restaurant. Bearing lots of traditional charm and elegant characteristics, this hotel was the birthplace of rugby league in 1895.

Within the building, itself is the UK's only Rugby League Heritage museum, which houses memorabilia and great artefacts form the game. Holmfirth, the picturesque village made famous in 'The Last of the Summer Wine', Haworth Parsonage, home of the literary Bronte family and the Kirklees light railway are just some of the nearby visitor attractions.
