Almost entirely
National Trust
owned,
Newton-by-the-Sea
is a delightful
tiny village on
the coast,
popular for
sailing and
windsurfing. The
Trust also owns
5 miles of the
coast including
the beautiful
sandy beach at
Newton, with
views across
Embleton Bay to
Dunstanburgh
Castle.
The area around
Newton-by-the-Sea
is also renowned
for its
excellent bird
watching.
The 'square' is
the heart of the
old village,
with its large
grass area.
