Welcome to Currock Hill,
home of the Northumbria Gliding Club for 30
years. The club owns approximately 88 acres of
land, high above the Tyne Valley. In fact the
airfield is 800 feet above sea level and has
commanding views towards the Pennines and Tyne
Valley to the West, the Cheviot Hills to the
North with Tyneside and North Sea Coast to the
East.
Trial lessons are available
in our modern dual controlled sailplanes,
launched by either winch or aerotow. For those
considering taking gliding further we offer
one-day courses, which include two aerotow
launches and two winch launches for a very
competitive rate - see our
