Oakdale Golf Club can be found close to the
centre of Harrogate, North Yorkshire in England.
A pleasant, undulating parkland course
which provides a good test of golf for the low
handicap player without intimidating the less
proficient. Water comes into play on many holes.
Excellent clubhouse. The Golf Course is 6456
yards long with a par of 71 for Gentlemen and
5484 yards long with a par of 72 for Lady
golfers.
Established in 1892 the Club has a long history
and is very well respected throughout the
country. Our colonial style Clubhouse and mature
parkland course provide the ideal setting for
regular golf as a Member, visitor or corporate
day out. Superb clubhouse facilities.
Designed in 1906 by the acclaimed Sandy Herd -
the Open Champion in 1902 - and reconstructed
further by esteemed golf course architect, Major
Charles Mackenzie, in 1935, Pannal golf club has
weathered the test of time well and remains as
marvellous and well-maintained a course today as
it did seventy or eighty years ago.With fabulous views of York Minster and
other such landmarks, it is laid out on
gorse-covered, tree-lined land and has hosted
many prestigious competitions, including the
British Youth Championships in 1975, won by a
young Nick Faldo no less.The total yardage of the course is 6622
with a SSS of 72 and a par of 72.
Found on the southern fringes of Harrogate in
North Yorkshire, Rudding Park Hotel & Golf Club
has a 6883 yard, 18 hole course designed by
renowned architect Martin Hawtree. It is set in
mature parkland in the massive Rudding Park
Estate and blends effortlessly into its natural
landscape. Even the most experienced golfer will
find their game challenged by the array of lakes
and new bunkers that have been added to the
existing surroundings to make for a testing
round of golf. The clubhouse overlooks the
eighteenth green, and has been specifically
designed to complement the natural woodland
setting with its Scandinavian style. There is
also a floodlit driving range for you to hone
your swing on before teeing off.
Crimple Valley is a great nine-hole pay-and-play
golf course. At 2,500-yards for the nine holes,
the course is ideal for beginners, but the
narrow, rolling fairways and undulating greens
make it a good test for the more accomplished
player.The club is
situated roughly two miles south of the centre
of Harrogate off Hookstone Drive. The clubhouse
is open to the public and has a wide range of
snacks and meals which are served every day with
the exception of Sunday.The golf course, according to club
officials, is open "from dawn until dusk" and is
very welcoming to visitors. If you're looking
for a fun-filled round without emptying your
pocket, you've just found it.
