The Crown Coaching Inn dates from the 16th century and overlooks the Market Square in Helmsley.

It has been tastefully modernised giving maximum comfort to guests without losing its wonderful Old World charm.

This is a family run hotel, well known for its warm and friendly atmosphere and its consistency of offering traditional English cooking to a very high standard.

There are twelve bedrooms in the main house with a further 6 bedrooms located in the converted barn and stables, (4 ground floor bedrooms - 2 with walk in showers and 2 located on the first floor).

There is a ground floor residents lounge with cosy fire.

All rooms are en-suite and have colour televisions, clock radios, and tea/coffee facilities.

The barn has four comfortable en-suite bedrooms perfect to book for the family or friends!

Single rooms are available at no extra cost.

There is car parking space at the front of the hotel and a private car park at the rear.

 
  There are two Bars serving traditional ale and Bar snacks.

Traditional country cooking can be sampled all day in the Jacobean Dining Room with fresh local produce being used whenever possible.

The hotel bakes its own bread buns, cakes, scones and pies.

A full four course Dinner or meal in the Bar are offered in the evening with a wide choice of main courses, and all desserts being home made.

Wines are sensibly priced too.
Local attractions include the beautiful North York Moors, Castle Howard, Rievaulx Abbey and Nunnington Hall, just a few of the many places of interest close by.





It is less than an hours drive to the coastal resorts of Whitby (Heartbeat Country), Scarborough and Filey, and to the South the historic city of York.
