Once a popular, traditional seaside
town, New Brighton stands on the Wirral
peninsula and used to be one of Merseyside’s main pleasure
grounds.
Now much quieter it is now a rather sad reflection
of its once glorious past. Gone is the 567ft
tower, one of the largest ballrooms in the world,
the fairground, circus, 550ft long pier and the
magnificent open air baths. The last ferry sailed
to New Brighton in 1971.
However it is currently being regenerated!
