Bowland Forest Gliding
Club has owned its present 56 acre site since
1973, having previously operated from Squires
Gate in Blackpool and Samlesbury Airfield. We
are situated at the Southern tip of the Forest
of Bowland (designated an Area of Outstanding
Natural Beauty). The local fells offer excellent
soaring in most wind directions, with occasional
wave an added bonus. We operate every Saturday,
Sunday, Wednesday and Friday throughout the
year, weather permitting.
The club has a great
future. We are seen as being an important asset
both by the British Gliding Association and the
Sports Council who have assisted with our
development over the years. We will continue to
introduce people to the sport of gliding and
provide training to the highest standard; we are
also committed to the development of solo flying
from the club. More pilots every year enjoy the
thrill of flying cross country and club records
are continually being broken. Development
efforts continue with improvements to winches,
aircraft and buildings. All this is possible
through the efforts of members. The progress is
tremendously exciting - you are invited to be a
part of it.

of the M6 in the Lancashire village of Cockerham,
we're the most accessible North West Parachute
Centre and Skydiving Drop Zone. Many people who
make a parachute jump do so whilst raising funds
for a worthwhile cause. A sponsored jump at the
Black Knights Parachute Centre offers you the
opportunity to raise money for charity and at
the same time enjoy the jump at no cost to
yourself. Black Knights Parachute Centre offers
facilities and training for first time jumpers
and experienced skydivers.
OUR SKYDIVING SCHOOL CAN HELP YOU TANDEM
SKYDIVE, PARACHUTE JUMP OR EVEN BECOME A
QUALIFIED SKYDIVER IN LESS THAN 1 WEEK.
Whatever your requirements "Fall From The Sky"
can supply them for the novice who either wishes
to experience the full thrill of Tandem Freefall
skydive at 120 mph as a one off experience or
wishes to learn to be an experienced skydiver.
Whichever it is our skydiving school has the
highest standards of safety and professionalism
and operate in accordance with the British
Parachute Association operations manual. Our
instructors have over 5000 jumps and up to 19
years experience.
