Perhaps one of the least
well known glens. The hardwood scrub that used
to grow up the higher slopes has now been
replaced by conifer forest but here too there is
a particular kind of beauty.
Glenarm is 'McDonnell
country' and adjoining the town is Glenarm
castle. The forest extends as a narrow belt
along the upper slopes of both sides of the
glen. Although only 180 hectares in area, it has
a wide variety of tree species. Easy to moderate
walking but steep in places.
