Built in 1875 by Edward Fuller Sewell, an uncle of Anna Sewell, the author of the novel ''Black Beauty''.   A Victorian stone built residence in the centre of the picturesque village of Goathland.

The house is more recently famous as Dr. Ferrenby's surgery in the Yorkshire TV series, ''Heartbeat''. All our rooms have en-suite facilities, central heating and tea/coffee making facilities. We have a guest lounge with colour TV (plus free digital channels) and open fire from original cast iron grate. Large conservatory overlooking garden & fish pond.

This period Victorian Cottage built in the 1880's is located in the small village of Goathland.   The cottage is across the common in the centre of the village and built from stone which came from the church.

 
It has been used several times in the last series of "Heartbeat" and can be seen in most of the episodes as it forms part of the back drop. The accommodation comprises a double or twin room with en-suite facilities. There is a guest sitting room if you prefer to stay in with log fire and TV. At the rear is the garden which has magnificent views across the moors.

The rugged country which encircles Goathland is ideal for walking and nearby attractions include The NYM Steam Railway. The cottage is listed in the AA book of British Villages, a guide to the most interesting and attractive villages.

Situated in the in centre of 'Heartbeat' country, the Beacon has appeared in a number of heartbeat episodes. This late Victorian residence was originally built as a country house for a wealthy mill owner.

Standing adjacent to the church, it sits in its own pleasurable, landscaped grounds of over an acre overlooking fields and open moorland. The Beacon offers a first class friendly atmosphere combined with excellent service.

Each of the tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms are centrally heated with colour television and tea and coffee making facilities. Double, twin, and family rooms are offered. All rooms are non-smoking. The bedrooms in the main house boast wonderful views of the moors, garden or Goathland common.
