has a 20m x 40m indoor school and a 20m x 70m
sand paddock. We are surrounded by the peace,
tranquillity and beauty of rural Northumberland,
and yet within striking distance of Newcastle
and all the major centres. The combination of
superb facilities, quality horses, expert
tuition and outstanding location make Tilery
Equestrian Centre a riding establishment not to
be missed. At Tilery we offer a great choice of
options, lessons for all ages including jumping.
The facilities available mean that we can
continue whatever the weather. The lanes round
the centre are quiet enough for young riders to
enjoy a supervised walk out in perfect safety.

established for 24 years and has horses to cater
for adult riders of all ages and abilities.
Hotel accommodation and meals are provided in a
nearby hotel and transport to the farm is
available. Whether you are a novice or
experienced or experienced trail rider, these
holidays can be tailored for your individual
needs. Enjoy the spectacular scenery of the
Northumberland countryside and the relaxation.
Groups of up to 30 riders are catered for and
holidays can be booked for 2 - 14 nights.

Small riding establishment with Austrian
Haflinger ponies catering for children and light
adults. Enjoy a variety of riding activities in
beautiful south Northumberland countryside.
Unaccompanied children's days are run throughout
the school holidays and include a variety of
riding activities. There is one instructor who
gives basic instruction in riding and jumping,
catering for novice to intermediate riders.
Tuition is given in an all weather outdoor arena
and lessons in horse care and stable management
are also available. Groups of up to 5 riders can
enjoy horse riding through the surrounding
countryside, across moorland and through nearby
woods. Length of ride ranges from 1 hour to a
full day.

Small, family run riding centre, situated in the
North Pennines area of outstanding natural
beauty, with panoramic views across
Northumberland. There is one instructor, who
provides instruction in dressage and jumping.
Beginners to intermediate riders catered for.
Lessons are given in an outdoor all weather
arena. Groups of up to 8 riders are taken out at
a time, ranging in length from 1 hour to a full
day. Explore the beautiful surrounding
countryside and moorland, following bridleways
originally used by pack ponies carrying lead.
Small, family run training centre set in
beautiful Northumberland country estate. This
centre specialises in dressage training on
quality horses. There is one qualified
instructor (BHS Registered) who provides
instruction in dressage and general riding for
adults on well schooled horses. Beginners to
more advanced riders welcome. Lessons are given
in an outdoor all weather arena. There are also
courses from 1-3 days in horse handling and
horse psychology. Private hacking can be
arranged in advance for 1 hour in the
surrounding countryside. Livery services can be
arranged in advance and horses are taken for
training.
Whitehouse Riding School

BHS Approved. Small riding school ideally
located on the England / Scottish border. Adults
and children welcome, with horses to suit all
levels. Safety equipment provided. There are two
instructors at the centre, offering basic
tuition in riding and jumping. Beginners to more
experienced riders are welcome and lessons are
given in the outdoor all weather arena. There is
also a small show jumping area and cross country
course on site. Groups of up to 12 riders can
book onto a ride, ranging from 1/2 hour to half
a day. Enjoy off road riding along old railway
lines and farm tracks, through the beautiful
countryside. A full livery service is available,
however please telephone in advance to check
availability.
