With a maze of
tightly-packed houses and the swell of the
North Sea in the distance, the village of
Robin Hood’s Bay is a picturesque and
sometimes dramatic setting for a seaside
resort.
The residents once lived
solely by fishing and smuggling. The main
street was washed away by a great storm in
1780. The impressive sandy bay sweeps several
miles to the south, with Ravenscar nestling on
the headland. |
