Welcome to Bishop,
Auckland Golf Club, one of the finest parkland
courses in the North of England.
This mature course
was established in 1894 and provides a good test
of golf, whatever your standard.
Eleven Arches Driving Range is open Monday to
Friday from 9am - 8pm, Saturdays and Sundays
from 9am -7pm. Two minutes from Bishop Auckland
Town Centre, yet set within a rural location
with stunning views of Auckland Caslte and the
Viaduct. Facilities include fourteen covered
bays, seven open air bays, an outside picnic
area and light refreshments are available .
The Brancepeth Castle
Golf club is situated in the historic village of
Brancepeth, four miles south-west of the
Cathedral City of Durham on the A690 to Crook.
The course was designed by
H. Colt and presently measures 6300 yards and
its par and SSS of 70 prove a sound test to many
of the countries leading amateurs who meet
annually to compete in the Club's open amateur
36 hole stroke play Championship for the Leonard
Crawley Medal.
Established in 1922 Birtley
Golf Club has an attractive 9 hole parkland
course measuring 5780 yards with a standard par
of 67.
The fairways are
undulating in nature and the greens are well
guarded, providing a good test for golfers of
all handicaps.
Visiting golfers are welcome at
the course during weekdays and up to 3pm on
Friday afternoons, however they can play on bank
holidays and weekends if they are playing with a
member of the club. The club itself is located
approximately three miles from Birtley service
area on the A1 (M). Other facilities include
practise area, putting green and clubhouse.
