This
tiny, attractive village with a handful of
thatched buildings stands within the Broads
National Park and is perhaps best-known for
the 19th century Berney Arms
Windmill, a magnificent 70ft working marsh
windmill - Norfolk’s tallest. Originally used
to grind cement clinker, it later pumped water
from the nearby marshes, now part of an
important nature reserve.
The nearby pub is
the remotest tavern in Britain and can be
reached only by boat or rail!
The
long-distance Weaver’s Way walk runs through
the village. |
