Beeston Fields Golf Club lies four miles west of
Nottingham, just off the the A52. It is a mature
and well laid out parkland course, with many
fine features. It's trees and natural contours
add to both the beauty and difficulty of the
course. Visitors are welcome Sunday to Friday
excluding Tuesday (Ladies Day).
Designed by two famous
names Harry Colt and James Braid back in 1895
and for courses of that pedigree is long at 6860
yards par 71.
Home to a
number of major events over the years and if you
think the front nine holes are good - just wait
'till you play the back nine - as good as you'll
get anywhere.
Long wooded parkland course, set in ideal
surroundings this course offers a variety of
golf. The par 4 and 5's are long and some tight
approach shots into well guarded greens, easy
walking and a good challenge to all levels of
ability. Excellent clubhouse and facilities, a
handicap certificate is required. Situated on
the A17 between Newark and Sleaford.
Rufford Park is a unique location for golf with
unrivalled facilities and outstanding service,
which offers a fresh approach to playing the
game. The golf course is a 'Resort' style
course, designed and constructed to the highest
standard, providing a challenge to golfers of
every level, without the potential intimidation
of a championship course.
The course has 18 holes, the first nine being
inside the racecourse, the second alongside it.
One feature of the course is the par 3 7th hole
which has its green surrounded by water, ruining
the card of many medal players.
Heathland type golf course with narrow fairways
and five challenging par 3's. Not long, but is a
thinking man's course. Noted for the quality of
the greens. The present clubhouse was built in
the early part of the century and the outside
structure cannot be altered. The changing rooms
houses in the region of 150 lockers, showers and
a drying room (our best asset with the British
Climate). Meals can be catered for up to 50
people. Other activities available include pool,
darts, table skittles, carpet bowls and cards.
This Parkland 18 Hole
Golf Course measures 6805 yards off the Men's
Medal tees. The American course designer, Clyde
B. Johnston, has succeeded in creating a
magnificent layout which blends in perfectly
with the historic setting of Norwood Park and
highlights its natural features.
Built to USGA standards,
the course will appeal to all golfers, who will
appreciate the well-shaped fairways, large
undulating greens, natural and man made water
hazards and panoramic views over Halam and
surrounding countryside. There is always a warm
welcome waiting for members and visitors
arriving at the pro’s shop. The shop is
well-stocked with equipment and clothing at very
competitive prices. The main brands stocked are
Ping, Cobra and Titelist. The well trained staff
are on hand to help and give advice on equipment
and book tee times. Trolleys, buggies and clubs
can be hired from the shop.
