Facilities: Swimming Pool: a 30m long,
rectangular-shaped pool with pool-side changing
cubicles. A viewing gallery is available for
spectators. The pool is available for private
hire and for children's parties with an
inflatable. Main Hall: (35m x 20m) with seating
for 600 and 1,100 standing Ancillary Hall. Two
squash courts with upstairs viewing gallery.
Flexible Fitness suite: full air-conditioned
fitness room supervised by fitness advisors. The
gym consists of a wide range of cardiovascular
equipment including running, rowing, cycling and
stepping machines, a wide range of weight
training machines and a selection of free
weights. Revolution Gym featuring Spinning and
Hammer equipment.
Facilities: Main pool (100ft x 30ft) with
pool-side changing cubicles. Teaching pool (38ft
x 24ft) Sports Hall with three badminton courts.
Two-room gym. Creche staffed by fully qualified
staff (Monday-Friday). Activity Room - suitable
for exercise classes, meetings, seminars. Sunbed

A modern, purpose-built facility set in the
heart of Radford, John Carroll Leisure Centre
offers an extensive range of activities suitable
for all ages and abilities. A 25m deck-level
pool is popular with those wishing to swim for
fitness, as well as leisure. The addition of a
purpose-built fitness gym in December 1998 has
added a new dimension to the centre. This is an
extremely popular facility and advance booking
is advised during peak periods. John Carroll has
a long-standing reputation for the provision of
quality exercise classes. Classes take place
both in the pool and in the sports hall every
day of the week. The Centre is also the proud
holder of the 'Healthy Leisure Award', given in
recognition of John Carroll's work towards
promoting a healthier lifestyle. Easy access and
a large car park means John Carroll is an ideal
venue for visitors from all over the City.
Clifton Leisure Centre is a modern leisure
facility completed in 1996. A community-based
centre, it offers a wide range of activities for
all ages and abilities and all facilities are
located on ground level. As well as being a
recognised venue for sporting activities and
tournaments, Clifton also hosts events such as
seminars, wedding receptions and car boot sales.
Facilities: Main pool. Teaching pool. Leisure
pool with flume, water jets, spa, beach area.
Sports Hall marked out for four badminton
courts, netball, volleyball and five-a-side
football. Gym with nine resistance units and
nine cardio units. Three sunbeds. Modern health
suite boasting steam room, sauna, spa pool,
needle shower and a relaxation area complete
with TV Function room overlooking park. Two
squash courts. Cafe and bar.
Facilities: 33 1/3 meters main pool. 20m
teaching pool. Health Suite including two
sunbeds. Fitness Suite. Sports Hall with
markings for four badminton courts, basketball
and short tennis. Trampoline. Two squash courts.
Function Room. Class Room.
Activities over summer include water polo,
lifesaving and personal survival, wet n wild fun
swim sessions, crash course swimming lessons,
fun and games for 5-8 year-olds, mini-inflatable
fun, and flume fun.

Children's pool and leisure pool with chute,
waves, toddlers' area with minislide. Family
changing area with playpen/changing tables. Cafe

Elliott Durham Swimming Pool is a small friendly
centre used by a wide range of customers from
the very young to the very old. The centre is
used by schools only during term-time but is
open to the public during school holidays.
Swimming lessons, however, are available to the
public during term-time. Pool (20m x 7.9m -
depth shallow end 0.9m, depth deep end 1.7m) Two
all-weather astroturf pitches (not full size).
One of the largest sports halls in the region
consisting of 10 badminton courts. The hall also
has markings available for 5-a-side football,
basketball, netball, volleyball and indoor
hockey Air-conditioned fitness suite with a
comprehensive range of resistance and cardio
vascular equipment. Ancillary room available for
meetings, parties, etc. Creche for Under-5s
staffed by fully-qualified childcare staff Bar
and café. Full fitness programme: step/body
conditioning; Total Body Conditioning; circuit

Martin Swimming Centre is a multi-function
centre providing quality leisure activities The
centre has adapted to customer needs, enabling
equal access for all and providing a range of
activities to suit all ages and abilities. The
Lido opens during the summer holidays at the
following times: Monday to Friday 11.30am to
6.30pm. Saturday and Sunday 10.30am to 4.30pm.
25m x 12.5m main indoor pool, depth ranges from
0.9m to 1.8m. Six swimming lanes and seating for
200 spectators Teaching pool: 8.5m x 5.5m small
pool with depth ranging from 0.5 to 0.8m
Changing facilities including lockers for

Southglade Leisure Centre on Bestwood Estate has
been transformed into a new leisure complex
complete with two pools, an 80m flume, café,
creche, sports hall, activity studio, fitness
suite, meeting rooms and outdoor Astro pitches.
Facilities include: 25m x 6 lane Training Pool,
10m x 5m Teaching Pool, 80m flume ride, Sports
Hall marked out for Badminton, netball,
volleyball, hockey, basketball and five-a-side
football. Modernised air conditioned Fitness Gym
with resistance and cardiovascular equipment,
including cross trainers, steppers and
wheelchair-accessible equipment. Air conditioned
Aerobics Studio. Activity Room suitable for
